Distribution lists and shared mailboxes

Last updated:

Distribution lists and shared mailboxes are set up and edited on request by the IT administration of FJFI via the CTU Helpdesk.

  • A distribution list is an e-mail contact that sends e-mail messages to multiple recipients at once (to the e-mail boxes of all members on the list).
    • Receiving messages from the distribution list is automatic.
    • There are preset distribution lists for different purposes, e.g. students of a department, dean's office, based on CTU roles, etc. They are available in the Outlook directory - see sample.
  • A shared inbox is an email inbox to which multiple users have access.
    • In desktop Outlook, users connect to shared mailboxes automatically
    • There are two ways to access shared mailboxes in the web interface:
      • add another mailbox so that it appears on the same page as the others
        • right-click on "Folders", select "add a shared folder or mailbox"
        • in the mail configuration you can enable the permanent display of the sending address selection
      • separate display of the shared mailbox
    • Also available for mail clients using the IMAP protocol

Up-to-date list of all distribution lists and shared mailboxes, including shortened names to allow quick searches of email clients and member information.
