User account
Security rules
- Beware of fraudulent e-mails, known as phishing
- Do not enter your username and password to web pages, which URL address ends on a different string than .cvut.cz.
- IT administration never sends mass emails. All important information is delivered by contact persons or websites.
- Your password can be currently chaged on these sites only:
- Always be sure, that the password you type in the correct field and the characters are hidden.
- Don't forget to log out everytime you are leaving an authenticated service.
User account activation
Please activate your FNSPE account on NMS (user account settings)
- After the activation is successful, follow the link to WebMail
- Make sure that the account is functional
- Check your E-mail service (you may recieve the welcome message)
- If you don't want enter to faculty mailbox, please set a redirect message to your active E-mail service

- Check your faculty web page http://people.fjfi.cvut.cz/username
- If you are using another hosting, you may set there a redirect from faculty URL
- If the problem occurs when activated, please contact the administrators immediately.
- Prerequisite for successful activation you need The CTU account activated. (Please see the next Chapter
User account lifecycle
- CTU account (in the Usermap database) it's created after the establishment of the relationship with CTU (student / employee)
- Student's account needs the activation, please create your first password on First-password.
- The account used to access E-mail, KOS, Usermap and other CTU services.
- Username is usually 8 characters (5 of surname and 3 of first name, or numerically modified versions)
- Tom Stoner: stonetom, stoneto1 etc.
- Password must be 9-30 characters using at least three character sets: uppercase, lowercase numbers and spec. characters. Do not include your name, surname, personal number or username.

- not Atom4ever, it contains tom, the first name
- Account password can be changed in Usermap
- Password expires after 365 days, then you need to change it.

- Lost password resets the administrators or staff of CTU ID Cards.
- FNSPE account following your CTU account
- FNSPE (FJFI) account needs ACTIVATION!
- Due to the impending unification CTU account is recommended that you set both passwords to the same value.
- The account used to access the personal folders, login to FNSPE network (and other systems of FJFI).
- Username is the same as the username in Usermap database.
- Tom Stoner: stonetom, stoneto1 etc.
- The account can be managed via NMS.fjfi.cvut.cz.
- Account password can be changed in Webmail (how to change the password), for the lost password please contact your administrator.
- FNSPE (FJFI) account needs ACTIVATION!
- After leaving CTU
- The Emploee account exists forever, unless otherwise decided
- E-mail, including all settings
- Website http://people.fjfi.cvut.cz/username
- The student account subject to the following steps:
- The user will receive a message about the upcoming expiration
- After 30 days, the account is disabled
- Next 14 months the account exists in disabled state
- 15 moths after leaving CTU the account is deleted
- If the user returns during "protection perion", the account is restored to the state corresponding to the current relationship
